Job Description
Job Objective:
To fabricate parts from blueprints for various production equipment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Time Essential Duty Responsibilities:
- Fabrication: Fabricate parts using various equipment such as Bridgeports, grinders, and millers.
- Testing and Adjustment: Test completed assemblies for proper operation, make necessary adjustments, and record all modifications.
- Measurement: Measure new molds, assemblies, and cavities prior to production qualification.
- Specification Checking: Check specifications according to blueprints for all new equipment installations.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Record Maintenance: Maintain work records (work orders, PM's, materials, and parts) on a computerized maintenance system.
Skills and Abilities:
- Read, write, and speak English.
- Follow manufacturing/equipment specifications.
- Demonstrated mechanical skills and techniques.
- Perform basic math calculations.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems.
- Use blueprints and schematics.
- Use a computer.
- Understand and use measuring devices/tolerances.
- Use various hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of plumbing and piping.
- Learn and apply quality standards of workmanship/product.
- Use machine tools such as drills, lathes, and millers.
Job Requirements
Education:
- Vocational school graduate of Machine Shop or Machine and Tool Technology or an equivalent secondary school curriculum is required.
Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a machine shop is required.
Requirements:
- Must have own trade-related tools to perform required tasks.
Special Credentials/Skills:
- Experience in fabricating parts using a lathe and milling machine.
- Proficiency in using tools of the trade, including calipers, vernier, and micrometer.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Thorough knowledge of mechanical production equipment.
- Knowledge of hydraulics and/or electrical schematics.

Licenses:
- Electrician License
- MA 2nd Class Fireman License
- Class A or B CDL
- MA Journeyman Electrician License
- Universal Refrigeration License
- Ability to obtain forklift pallet-jack and/or man-lift license
