HW Staffing is currently seeking a Shift Mold Tech for our client out of Hopkinton, MA. The ideal candidate will have the following skills;

  • Understand, observe and enforce all safety practices.
  • Ensure all quality and productivity standards are met on assigned workstations (proper molding, cleaning, marking and packaging of parts). Maintain and review production records and schedule job assignments.
  • Ensure continuity of production from shift to shift by communicating person daily with shift assistants including discussion of processing, maintenance or quality problems occurring.
  • Recognize and correct routine process problems (adjust, tune and calibrate instrumentation for optimal performance). Publish routers and procedures on assigned workstations.
  • Set-up, troubleshoot and repair routine equipment failures and prepare proper work orders for tasks requiring technician / maintenance support.
  • Read, follow and assist in training and direction of operators on work instructions and technical procedures.
  • Follow detailed work instructions, procedures, and material specifications to perform a variety of manufacturing production tasks on multiple workstations/presses.
  • Ensure jobs are run with correct materials according to job routers.
  • Maintain frequent coordination with Leads and Production Supervisor to freely exchange ideas and to review shift activities
  • Ensure continuity of production from shift to shift by communicating person daily with shift assistants including discussion of processing, maintenance or quality problems occurring during the preceding shift.
  • Verify setups and adjustments to process equipment, holding tolerances to work instruction specifications per documented procedures as required.
  • Operate / relieve operators on multiple workstations / presses in accordance with detailed work instructions.
  • Track material and equipment performance, performs preventive and routine maintenance such as lubrication, mechanical running adjustments and minor repair of equipment. Ensure cleanliness of work stations.
  • Extend the majority of effort and time on the designated equipment, but complete other duties as assigned.
  • Receive technical guidance as required from the supervisor or process technician.  


  • Exhibit a high degree of responsibility with emphasis on safety
  • Position requires a High School Diploma or GED. (Preferred)
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing, exhibiting a high degree of responsibility with emphasis on safety.
  • Possess the ability to follow directions from technicians in a professional manner. Effectively work as a team member.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and advanced math skills are required.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to participate in various activities and tasks based upon needs of the department.
  • Ability to comprehend and train to documents such as work instructions, safety rules, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals written in English language.
  • Ability to perform repetitive work, change tasks frequently, maintains attention to detail and speed without loss to production.
  • Ability to detect and correct process problems on assigned workstations.
  • Possess basic computer skills to accurately record production data.
  • Work with minimal supervision, while maintaining proper safety, quality and inspection standards.
