Responsible for the planning and scheduling of production manufacturing areas. This entails scheduling product lines within the capacity constraints identified to balance resources while maintaining adequate inventory levels and minimizing outdates.  The position is a liaison between sales and marketing, customer service, purchasing, quality and the respective production departments.  The Production Planner must balance the needs of the customer with the efficiency and output of manufacturing. 

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Create daily and weekly schedules within the capacity constraints identified for each area scheduled. Release all process orders for specific product lines and/or sub assembly product. Schedule effectively to reduce the number of product outdates. Minimize backorders/backlog and impact to the customer. Respond to cancelled and work in process batches to minimalize customer impact. Review pertinent metrics. Effective communications with sales and marketing, customer service, purchasing, quality, and respective production departments. JD Edwards experience.

 

 

JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:

 

Back up other planners when needed. Generating Reports as they relate to Inventory Dollars,  value reports  by “HOLD” location (customer returns),& on hand report Review Material issues as it relates to the Logistics Warehouse Process Inventory Issues directly related to assigned items Verify customer shipping complaints (Quantity/Product) Coordinate the Cycle Count Program (determine what needs to be counted, generate count sheets, upload counts, update cycle counts in JDE, cycle count responsibilities do not include variance research) Other duties as assigned.

 

SKILLS, ABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:                     

 

Strong analytical skills. Attention to detail mandatory. Knowledge of Supply Chain Management theory and practices. Experience in commercial software ERP system, MRP Systems a plus. Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access a plus). Excellent verbal and written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment. Possess A.A. in Business Administration, Material Management with 2-3 years of related experience or

Must have JDE experience to be considered for this role.

Background and Drug test.
