Job Description

As an SMT (Surface Mount Technology) Machine Operator, you will play a vital role in the precision-driven world of electronics manufacturing. Your responsibilities encompass a range of critical tasks, from machine set-up to meticulous PCB (Printed Circuit Board) inspection, ensuring the smooth operation of the SMT assembly line. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to the production of high-quality electronic components.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 
  1. Machine set-up to job specs
  2. Operating SMT machines
  3. Set up of SMT assembly line
  4. PCB inspection
  5. Monitoring and maintaining machinery and equipment
  6. Use of calipers and micrometers subassembly and use of blueprints and drawings
  7. Set up and operate SMT machines (e.g., pick-and-place, solder paste printers, reflow ovens).
  8. Perform visual and automated inspections of boards for proper component placement and soldering quality.
  9. Load components onto feeders and verify part numbers, quantities, and orientation.
  10. Read and interpret assembly drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and job travelers.
  11. Monitor the SMT line and make real-time adjustments to ensure quality and production targets are met.
  12. Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on SMT equipment.
  13. Ensure proper ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) procedures are followed.
  14. Record production data and report any defects or process issues to the supervisor or quality team.
  15. Support continuous improvement initiatives in the SMT area.
  16. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  17. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented production environment.
  18. Manufacturing environment may require standing for extended periods
 
Required Education and Experience 
 
  1. 1-4 years’ experience in SMT.
  2. Experience with SMT Machine and Mirtec (AOI) (experience with Juki is a plus)
  3. Ability to work independently.
  4. Familiarity with electronic component identification.
  5. Ability to follow the production schedule, and all production and safety procedures.
  6. Computer literacy.
  7. Ability to read and interpret shop floor paperwork.
  8. Strong leadership skills.

  4. IPC-610 certification
