Job Title: Warehouse Receiver
Reports To:  Warehouse Supervisor
FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt

Summary: 
 
The Warehouse Receiver is responsible for receiving, inspecting, and verifying incoming shipments of goods and materials. This role ensures that all items are in the correct quantity, are free from damage, and are properly documented before being stored or forwarded to the appropriate departments. The Warehouse Receiver plays a critical role in the smooth operation of the warehouse by ensuring accuracy, organization, and efficiency in the receiving process.
 
Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.  
 
  1. Unload incoming deliveries and ensure they are received in accordance with the company's specifications and purchase orders.
 
  1. Inspect goods for damage, discrepancies, or defects upon arrival.
 
  1. Verify the quantity, quality, and type of products received with the packing list, purchase orders, and invoices.
 
  1. Accurately record received items in the warehouse management system (WMS) or inventory system.
 
  1. Prepare and maintain records of shipments, including the date, time, and details of goods received.
 
  1. Report any discrepancies (missing items, damaged goods, etc.) to the appropriate parties for resolution.
 
  1. Label and tag received items according to company procedures.
 
  1. Assist with inventory checks and stock audits to ensure accurate stock levels.
 
  1. Ensure proper storage of goods and materials in the correct location within the warehouse.
 
  1. Collaborate with warehouse team members to ensure the efficient flow of goods into the warehouse.
 
  1. Communicate with suppliers, transporters, and other departments regarding delivery issues or delays.
 
  1. Follow all safety procedures and warehouse policies to maintain a safe working environment.
 
  1. Ensure all received goods meet safety standards and regulations.
 
  1. Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or other machinery safely and efficiently.
 
  1. Assist with keeping the warehouse clean and organized, ensuring that aisles and pathways are clear.
 
  1. Support other warehouse staff in various tasks as needed.
 
  1. Ensures accurate and timely updates of inventory transactions for all incoming items.
 
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required
 
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
Language Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
 
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
 
Reasoning Ability: 
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
 
Computer Skills: 
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software; Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Outlook; Inventory software; and ERP system.
