Job Description

  • Craft cabinets and other wooden fixtures using tools and machinery
  • Follow blueprints and plans to ensure accurate dimensions
  • Assemble cabinet components and apply finishes
  • May repair or refinish existing cabinets
  • Keep work areas clean and organized
  • Glue and dowels to put together cabinet frames, doors, and drawers

 

Qualities:

  • Attention to detail: Cabinet work requires precision to ensure everything fits together perfectly.
  • Math skills: They need strong math abilities for accurate measurements and calculations.
  • Manual dexterity: Using woodworking tools effectively requires good hand-eye coordination.
  • Problem-solving skills: Sometimes adjustments need to be made during the building process, so being adaptable is important.
  • Physical stamina: Cabinet making can involve lifting heavy materials and standing for long period
