Job Description
- Research, evaluate, and select suppliers based on price, quality, and service within the aerospace industry.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors to ensure favorable agreements.
- Source and procure specialized aerospace materials, including resins, glues, and fabrics.
- Issue purchase orders and track the delivery of materials and goods.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to prevent shortages.
- Collaborate with internal departments to determine procurement needs and specifications.
- Assess supplier performance and develop strategies for continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical sourcing practices.
- Work with suppliers and manufacturers to secure 3rd party independent certifications for materials and products.
- Analyze market trends and supplier pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier agreements.
- Resolve any issues related to delayed shipments, defective goods, or vendor disputes.
- Operate as a team player, contributing to cross-functional collaboration and strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, OR proven experience as a Buyer, Purchasing Agent, or in a similar procurement role within the aerospace industry.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience sourcing aerospace materials, including resins, glues, and fabrics.
- Familiarity with 3rd party independent certifications and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of supply chain processes, market trends, and vendor management.
- Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment and contribute to collective success.
