CNC Lathe Machinist
Job Description
- Expert Setup & Operation: Independently set up and operate Nakamura CNC lathes, utilizing your advanced knowledge of tooling, feeds, and speeds.
- Precision Execution: Interpret complex blueprints and work instructions, employing precision measuring and gauging tools to ensure accuracy.
- Quality Leadership: Perform rigorous 1st piece and in-process inspections, taking ownership of product quality and driving departmental excellence.
- Mentorship & Training: Train and guide fellow operators, sharing your expertise and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Process Optimization: Drive 5S initiatives, conduct line walks, and participate in Kaizen events to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.
- Problem Solving & Troubleshooting: Apply your analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex machining challenges.
- Minimum 5 years of proven setup experience on CNC machines, preferably Nakamura lathes.
- Extensive knowledge of tooling, feeds, and speeds, with experience machining aluminum, brass, ledloy, and various stainless steels.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in interpreting blueprints and using precision measuring tools.
- Computer literacy and familiarity with Lean Enterprise tools.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
