Job Description

SUMMARY:      This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and control of quality assurance gauges and test equipment by maintaining the calibration systems.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform O-Ring dimensional checks using automatic and manual measuring equipment.
  • Perform acceptance testing as outlined in the standards.
  • Find and interpret specifications using central computer system.
  • Perform diversified duties required to sustain precision measuring instruments and test equipment. Assist with maintaining the gauge and calibration system to ensure the accuracy of gauges and equipment and compliance with required standards. Calibrate fixed gauges such as micrometers dial gauges and digital calipers, durometers and temperature measuring equipment.  Make minor repair to gauges and measuring instruments.
  • Coordinate calibrations performed either remotely or on-site by an outside vendor, and update records in the calibration system.
  • Maintain documentation for calibration and external vendor certificates/scopes.
  • Detect and report improper operations, defective material, faulty equipment and unusual conditions to supervisor.
  • Follow company rules and regulations and maintain quality standards.
  • Assist with third party audits.
  • Creation/maintenance of all quality inspection plans (Finished goods, compounds, raw materials)
  • Creation/maintenance of all Gain seeker standards for finished goods & registration checks.
  • Creation/maintenance of CoC OAM/OEM material specifications and part templates for certificate generation.
  • Support NPI (New inspection plans/standards).
  • Sourcing new testing equipment for quality group or updates/upgrades to existing equipment.
  • Creation/maintenance of load testing methods on Instron testing machine. Set up sheets for testing also maintained.
  • Support various departments in the acquisition of new testing/measurement equipment.
  • Perform other duties as required or requested.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or GED required; two-year college education preferred.
  • Two to three years of manufacturing experience, particularly working in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have good math and technical skills, familiar with prints, gauges and measuring equipment. Experience or training on Basic Dimensional Metrology, Calibration, GR& R.
  • Must have good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have working knowledge of, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Outlook, SAP document system and Gain seeker data collection system.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work environment consists of office and manufacturing area which may have exposure to noise, varying temperatures, smells, and chemicals.
  • Work near moving mechanical parts up to 1/3 of the time.
