Costing Specialist
We are seeking a detail-oriented Costing Specialist to join our growing team. What You’ll Do
As a Costing Specialist, you will play a critical role in the execution of premium and luxury packaging projects. You’ll ensure cost accuracy, support material sourcing and purchasing, and maintain strong internal workflows. Working closely with Account Managers and cross-functional partners, you’ll help align production execution with client expectations throughout the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Material Estimating & Cost Analysis
Prepare detailed material estimates and cost breakdowns for client proposals
Collect supplier pricing and identify cost-saving opportunities
Leverage supplier quotes and historical data to support pricing and budget decisions
Collaborate with internal teams on value engineering and cost optimization initiatives
Purchasing & Supplier Coordination
Review client purchase orders and initiate timely material purchases
Coordinate with suppliers to ensure accurate pricing, availability, and lead times
Data & Documentation Management
Maintain pricing databases, cost records, and vendor documentation
Ensure accurate data entry and tracking within ERP and project management systems
Document procurement decisions to support traceable, organized workflows
Project Coordination & Collaboration
Quality & Risk Management
Partner with Quality Control teams to resolve material or process issues
Identify potential risks early and recommend proactive solutions
Support post-project reviews to drive performance improvements
Continuous Improvement
Recommend enhancements to internal processes and material workflows
Stay current on best practices, tools, and trends in estimating, procurement, and production
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent work experience); Packaging, Project Management, or related field a plus
Experience in manufacturing, packaging, estimating, or procurement environments
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Experience working with ERP and project management systems
High attention to detail with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
Proactive attitude with a focus on process improvement and accuracy
