As a Senior Design Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting program initiatives by creating innovative and practical mechanical and electro-mechanical concepts and designs. Collaborating closely with engineering teams, vendors, manufacturing, quality assurance, and customers, you will ensure that design specifications are met and designs are free of layout process defects. Your expertise in Computer Aided Design (CAD), particularly Creo 7, will be essential in developing complex design layouts, schematics, and sketches while adhering to engineering and military standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop innovative mechanical and electro-mechanical concepts and designs for components, assemblies, tools, and products of varying complexity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, vendors, manufacturing, quality, and customers to define design specifications and ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Utilize Computer Aided Design (CAD) methodologies, theories, and techniques to create and review engineering documents for compliance with standards and specifications.
• Provide expert technical consultation to internal teams and customers based on comprehensive knowledge of design principles and standards.
• Prepare complex design layouts, schematics, and sketches, ensuring adherence to system and integration requirements within cost and producibility constraints.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings, test plans, procedures, and change history documentation according to engineering, military, and industrial standards.
• Coordinate closely with systems engineers to ensure designs meet contractual requirements and evaluate completed drawings and specifications for producibility and viability.
• Proficiently conduct tolerance analysis and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to designs.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the use of CAD equipment and drafting techniques, including 3D modeling and manipulation of files.

• Minimum 9 years of design/drafting experience using Pro-E/Creo CAD system.
• Proficiency in Creo 7 is required; recent AutoCAD experience is highly desirable.
• Comprehensive knowledge of military drawings and specifications, as well as applicable MILSPEC/STD's.
• Strong understanding of product lines at the component, subsystem, and system levels.
• Familiarity with production methods and human factors influencing design.
• Experience with Model Based Definition (MBD) is a significant plus.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
