Job Description
Location: Rotating across College Park, MD | Alexandria, VA | West Falls Church, VA | Rockville, MD | Sterling, VA
Type: Direct Hire
Pay: $82,000 annually
Hours: Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Start Date: ASAP
- Develop appropriate business strategies aligned to KRC’s Management Policy.
- Manage employee performance by selecting, developing, and retaining talent.
- Plan for succession of key personnel and provide effective counseling and discipline.
- Handle human resource matters in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Establish work standards and schedules, ensuring effective implementation.
- Assign work, train employees in procedures and methods, and review their performance.
- Directly manage site activities for a specific shift and ensure daily work goals are met.
- Coordinate daily work activities on rail cars delivered to the customer.
- Supervise clerical and technical personnel during the shift.
- Control work hours to maintain the site budget and minimize overtime.
- Maintain a safe and orderly work environment, following all safety protocols.
- Prepare and manage daily activity schedules, ensuring progress is aligned with customer requirements.
- Audit and submit daily vouchers for supervised personnel.
- Ensure all employees follow customer safety procedures and guidelines.
- Coordinate and implement modifications as quickly as possible.
- Manage vendor activities to ensure warranty obligations are met and necessary paperwork is submitted.
- Demonstrate the ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
- Minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience in warranty, production, quality, or engineering
OR three (3) years of mechanical/technical experience with some supervisory responsibilities. - Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in both English and Metric measurement systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working in an active rail car environment.
- Strong computer and report-generating skills.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage changing priorities.
- Professional demeanor when interacting with customer representatives.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders, and lift, push, or pull up to 40 lbs.
The work environment is working in a maintenance facility with a combination of indoor and outdoor settings, depending on project requirements. Safety protocols and quality standards are strictly maintained to ensure a safe and productive workplace.
