Manufacturing Technical Engineer
Job Description
Pay Rate: $40–$50 per hour
Schedule: 9/80 work schedule, 1st shift
Shift Start: Flexible start between 6:30 AM – 8:00 AM
Overtime: Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required
- Combination of office and production floor (60% desk / 40% floor)
- Regular interaction with manufacturing personnel to provide updates and resolve issues
- Supports various concurrent projects
- Team size: Approximately 12 members
- Review and interpret electro-mechanical and opto-mechanical drawings
- Translate engineering drawings into clear, detailed work instructions
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting support for assembly, integration, and testing issues
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and project updates
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Coordinate across multiple disciplines to ensure project alignment and execution
- Balance and prioritize multiple projects in a dynamic manufacturing environment
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, quality standards, and labor practices
- 4–8 years of experience in manufacturing and/or prototyping environments
- Strong ability to interpret and work from electro-mechanical and opto-mechanical drawings
- Experience creating and maintaining detailed work instructions
- Proven troubleshooting skills in assembly, integration, and testing
- Strong documentation and record-keeping skills
- Effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders
- Strong coordination and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
- Ability to multitask and manage shifting priorities
- Clear and professional communication with operations leadership
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and travel as required
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
- Experience in the Airborne, Aerospace, or Defense industries
- Familiarity with machinery, machine building, and precision engineering
- Experience with optical metrology
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Understanding of Quality Management Systems (ISO / AS9100)
- Proactive ownership of schedules and stakeholder alignment
- Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to act quickly and safely under pressure
- Ability and willingness to support a 9/80 work schedule
- U.S. citizenship required
- Must be willing to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
