Lead Electrical Engineer
Job Description
Pay Rate: $85/hr DOE
Schedule: Onsite, 5 days per week
Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance required
- Lead the development of RF, analog, and digital circuit designs for low- and high-frequency electronic systems.
- Define system and subsystem architecture based on customer requirements and flow down applicable requirements to software, ASIC, test, and hardware teams.
- Capture schematics and PCBA layouts using modern CAD tools such as Altium or Mentor Graphics.
- Develop detailed design descriptions, verification plans/procedures, and customer CDRLs aligned with program schedules.
- Support integration, troubleshooting, and verification of hardware deliverables to meet program and customer compliance requirements.
- Work closely with GPS signal processing, anti-jam processing, embedded hardware, and system engineering subject matter experts.
- Lead or participate in design reviews, customer technical reviews, and status presentations.
- Provide inputs for proposals, technical baselines, and cost/schedule planning activities.
- Support cross-functional teams in root cause analysis, design resolution, and architecture development.
- Contribute to the execution of build, integration, and qualification testing activities.
- Generate project management reports and support senior-level and customer-facing reviews.
- Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of relevant experience, Master’s with 7+ years, or 13+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
- Comprehensive experience in RF Analog and Digital circuit design, including L-band RF systems.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in schematic capture and PCBA layout using Altium or Mentor Graphics.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in receiver, antenna, or radio (RF) design.
- Experience in embedded hardware design.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across software, systems, mechanical, and test teams.
- Ability to participate in and lead product development activities and design reviews.
- Ability to work onsite, Monday–Friday.
- Familiarity with GPS module design and topology.
- Understanding of high-speed analog design methodologies.
- Experience with Simulink/Matlab, P-Spice, Agilent ADS/AWR, Ansys HFSS, and MS Office.
- Experience with DO-254 compliant design.
- Background in project management or leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
- Experience supporting qualification test plans for military electronics.
- Excellent communication with the ability to interface frequently with program leadership and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Strong ability to communicate status, risks, and technical progress.
- Ability to participate in or lead technical reviews.
- Practical project management experience.
