Job Requirements
Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Shift Lead reporting to the area Manager, the Thermal Barrier Assembler is responsible for following procedures for thermal barrier parts assembling, cleaning, packing and safety requirements as documented by Aspen Aerogels.
Require English, BCI & Drug test.
Major Duties:
- Follow all procedures and achieve daily goals related to safety, quality and productivity.
- Safely and efficiently assemble, clean, and pack according to operating procedures, and/or as instructed to produce thermal barrier parts.
- Follow product documentation and specification for correct parts assembly, cleaning and packing.
- Visually inspect product appearance while assembling, cleaning or packing, communicating any issues and removing defective parts.
- Follow product documentation (traveler and work instruction/product specs) for settings, and dimensions. Record data as required.
- Perform material handling duties in a safe, conscientious manner.
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine cleaning on equipment as per procedures and/or as directed by the Shift Leader.
- Dispose of waste materials according to company procedures.
- Follow instructions as per company policy and Shift leader instructions including proper breaks, and attendance
- Attend pre-shift meetings and participate in continuous improvement in Ensure exhaust system is operational and working area is organized and clean
Education/Experience/Special Requirements:
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull loads of up to 30 lbs.
- Manual dexterity and attention to detail required.
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1-3 years’ experience in assembly environment preferred. Must be able to work: 8 hour 12 hour shifts (and 12 hour shifts and weekends at times).
All Selected candidates must successfully pass a drug test and criminal history check in order to be hired
Environmental considerations:
Personal Protective Equipment Requirements (provided): Safety glasses; heat resistant gloves NIOSH-approved N-95 air-purifying respirator. All Manufacturing Operators must complete an OSHA-required medical questionnaire; complete a medical physical and pulmonary function exam; and successfully pass a fit test wearing N-95 air-purifying respirator.
