Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Manage equipment builds (jigs, fixtures, 3d printers, CNC cutters, etc.).
  • Assemble parts using screws, nuts, bolts, wires, crimps, solder, bands, clips, springs, etc.
  • Review drawings and other information to ensure the equipment is made correctly.
  • Prepare raw materials for proof of concept as needed, ensuring quality and quantity are acceptable. Coordinate machine availability as required to complete testing.
  • Work with NPI engineers and management on to support development of new products and new manufacturing processes.
  • Implement equipment on the manufacturing floor when applicable.
  • Document how equipment was made and how tests were performed for traceability and reproducibility. 
  • Follow written and verbal instructions to complete experimental tests, organize resulting data, and communicate data to NPI Engineers.
  • Perform all work with attention to detail and document surprising or unusual results. Communicate unexpected challenges in a timely manner.
  • Participate in the 6S program to ensure NPI area is in compliance.
  • Communicate with Engineers, Maintenance and other resources as needed to keep resources informed and engaged. 
  • Be a consistent, visible leader in the area of personal safety including involvement in assigned Safety trainings and initiatives.
  • Participates as requested or desired in root cause investigations (RCI’s) occurring within assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Ensure company safety policies, procedures and expectations are understood and followed by all employees, escalate concerns/suggestions as appropriate.

 

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma required, associates or undergraduate degree preferred. 
  • 5 years assembly or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Must consistently demonstrate company values of Safety, Quality, Teamwork, Customer, Integrity and Innovation.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of manufacturing processes, technical skills and troubleshooting equipment individually and through assigned resources for operational efficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and electronic, and proven ability to relate with all levels within the organization.
  • Proficient use of Word, Excel, Office, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Understanding of quality measurement systems and practices.
  • Strong planning, documentation and execution skills required.  Attention to detail is a must.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams and independently

  • Occasionally exposed to extreme heat or cold (non-weather)
  • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate 
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 10 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision; Distance vision; Color vision; Peripheral vision; Depth perception and ability to adjust focus
