Forklift Operator – Lumber & Building Materials
Location: South Windsor, CT
Pay: $19.00–$20.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM until finish (some shifts may be up to 10 hours)
Job Summary
We are looking for a dependable Forklift Operator to join our team in South Windsor, CT. This position involves operating an electric forklift to safely move, stage, and load plywood and various interior lumber products for shipment.
Responsibilities
  • Operate an electric forklift safely and efficiently
  • Move plywood, lumber, and other interior building materials throughout the facility
  • Pull and stage products for customer shipments
  • Load and unload materials as needed
  • Follow printed pick/ship sheets to ensure orders are accurate
  • Use a headset to receive and communicate work instructions
  • Verify products and quantities before shipping
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Follow all company safety procedures and forklift operating guidelines
  • Assist with general warehouse duties as needed
Qualifications
  • Previous forklift experience required
  • Experience handling lumber, plywood, or other building materials is a plus
  • Ability to read and follow printed work/pick sheets
  • Comfortable using a headset for work instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to safely lift and move materials
  • Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
  • Must be comfortable working longer shifts when needed
Schedule & Pay
  • Monday–Friday
  • 8:00 AM until finish
  • Some days may require 10-hour shifts
  • $19–$20/hour, depending on experience
This is a great opportunity for an experienced forklift operator looking for a consistent Monday–Friday schedule with a well-established company.
