Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Supports HR activities across three business units as needed
  • Support recruitment activities including management and execution of talent acquisition plans to support the business needs through recruiting, interviewing, testing, and selecting future employees to help achieve the business goals and objectives
  • Onboarding, training, terminations, unemployment claims/working with state agencies as needed, including creation of Corporate wide onboarding program;
  • Employee Engagement activities
  • Oversees Talent Management Process
  • Maintains and updates job descriptions as required
  • Tracks performance KPI’s regarding turn-over and days to fill openings
  • Initiates and administers Training Programs
  • Oversees Leaves (FMLA & state and local leaves) administration closely following legislative changes that may impact existing programs & processes
  • Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of appropriate geographical legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Assists sites in the training and management in the annual review of reviews preparation and administration of wage and salary program, as well as prepares & guides managers through annual performance review process
  • Develops annual Affirmative Action Plan, reviews with leadership, and works with managers to achieve goals set forth within the plan
  • Responsible for annual EEO-1 reporting, OSHA reporting, VETS – 100 reporting and any other reporting that may impact the company federally or statewise;
  • Responsible for regular handbook review, compensation & benefits review, training & development assessments to help company stay competitive & increase employee retention & engagement
  • Has a team-player mindset & works collaboratively to accomplish any other HR related goals and projects
  • Some travel will be required as needed to help support additional sites (up to 15% of time)
  • Additional job duties as assigned.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field; or combination of education/training and applicable experience (experience in manufacturing/construction preferred but not required);
  • 5+ years’ experience in Human Resources & currently working in an HR Generalist level or higher;
  • Experience with Paylocity a plus;
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, training, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal, provincial and state respective employment laws;
  • Strong computer literacy & ability to quickly learn new programs/processes;
  • Superior customer service skills, demonstrated time management & organization skills and the ability to multi-task, & ability to follow directions;
  • Ability to analyze data & information and make informed recommendations & advisement of risk/exposure to Leadership & Upper Management;
  • Ability to work will all levels within the organization is essential to this position is the ability to maintain a professional relationship with team;
  • Experience working with sensitive and confidential information with a high degree of integrity and judgment
