CNC Horiziontal Lathe Machinist - 2nd Shift
Job Description
$24 – $36 per hour
Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
- Set up and operate CNC horizontal lathe equipment, including Nakamura machines
- Interpret blueprints, work instructions, and use precision measuring instruments
- Independently perform setups and adjustments to maintain production efficiency
- Change and set all required tooling
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections
- Ensure the quality of all parts produced on assigned machines
- Train and support operators within the department
- Maintain 5S standards in the CNC Lathe Department
- Conduct line walks as directed by the supervisor
- Follow all company safety rules and report unsafe conditions
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and Employee Handbook guidelines
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Support company goals by reducing lead times and improving customer satisfaction
- Participate in problem-solving teams and continuous improvement initiatives
- Contribute to Kaizen events
- Prepare and present Gemba Board updates as needed
- Minimum of 5 years of CNC setup experience
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of feeds and speeds
- Experience working with:
- Aluminum
- Brass
- Ledloy
- 300 series stainless steels (including 316)
- 430F and 430FR stainless steel
- Basic computer literacy
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Strong decision-making skills and accountability
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Frequent use of hands for tooling and machine operation
- Regular standing and walking
- Good vision, including close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
