In-Process Inspector
Job Description
Pay: $19–24/hr
Industry: Plastics Manufacturing
- Perform dimensional, visual, and functional inspections of manufactured products per work instructions
- Verify raw material traceability at production start-up
- Record and maintain inspection data accurately in quality systems/databases
- Analyze inspection data against specifications and SPC/control limits
- Identify, document, and report non-conforming materials/issues
- Communicate out-of-spec or out-of-control conditions to production/manufacturing teams
- Quarantine/contain suspect product when quality concerns arise
- Maintain retained samples per documented procedures
- Complete inspections at required sample sizes/frequencies
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous manufacturing/quality inspection experience preferred
- Basic math and computer skills
- Ability to read basic engineering drawings/blueprints
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with production teams
- Experience using precision measuring tools such as:
- Micrometers
- Digital indicators
- Pin gauges
- Gauge blocks
- Other hand inspection tools
- Comfortable using spreadsheets/data entry systems
- Experience with microscopes or visual inspection equipment is a plus
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Comfortable standing/walking throughout shift
- Strong visual acuity for inspecting small parts and defects
