3rd Shift Extrusion Operator
Job Description
Department: Production / Manufacturing
Reports To: Shift Supervisor / Production Manager
- Set up and operate extrusion machines in accordance with job specifications.
- Monitor machine performance and product quality throughout production runs.
- Use tape measures, calipers, and snap gauges to verify product dimensions and tolerances.
- Adjust machine settings such as temperature, pressure, and speed to ensure consistent output.
- Load raw materials and maintain proper feed during operations.
- Perform quality checks and record production data accurately.
- Assist with changeovers, cleanouts, and routine maintenance.
- Report equipment malfunctions or quality concerns promptly.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Adapt quickly to changes in production needs, tasks, or priorities.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and support team members as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1–2 years of experience in extrusion or machine operation preferred.
- Proficient in using tape measures, calipers, and snap gauges.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions.
- Physically able to lift up to 25-50 lbs. hourly, stand, and move throughout the shift.
- Reliable, flexible, adaptable, and capable of working independently.
- Positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, and machinery.
- Standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- PPE required at all times.
- May include overtime, rotating shifts, and weekend work as production demands.
