Inspection Associate
Job Description
Pay Rate: $27–$28 per hour
Work Environment: Bench area within the Receiving room
- Perform precision mechanical inspections based on dimensioned drawings using tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, gage blocks/pins, surface plates, toolmakers microscopes, optical comparators, CMMs, and other standard equipment.
- Conduct visual inspections of electronic assemblies using microscopes and magnifiers.
- Complete First Article Inspections (FAI) and create detailed reports as required.
- Communicate discrepancies verbally and through written reports to Supplier Quality Engineers/Technicians (SQE/SQT).
- Independently perform source inspections at local suppliers.
- Participate in MRB meetings and support SQE/SQT teams when needed.
- Maintain accurate and organized inspection records per company procedures.
- Flag equipment needs and recommend new or custom metrology tools when required.
- Identify Dock-to-Stock (DTS) candidates and present nominations to the SQE team.
- Partner with buyers, planners, design engineers, manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, and program leadership to support ongoing projects.
- Support supplier audits alongside SQE/SQT as necessary.
- Use computers daily to manage files, documentation, and reporting.
- High School Diploma or equivalent and
- 6+ years of relevant inspection experience or
- 2-year technical/Associates degree with 2+ years of related experience
- Strong ability to interpret drawings/blueprints
- Hands-on experience with inspection tooling such as gauges, calipers, micrometers
- Experience maintaining records and documents per quality procedures
- IPC-A-610 Certification
- Hexagon CMM certification (PC-DMIS software)
- Keyence Vision System programming experience
- Optical lens inspection experience
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate with engineers and technicians
- Ability to work independently when needed

- High School Diploma required
- IPC-A-610 Certification preferred
