Electro Mechanical Assembler
Job Description
Location: Rochester, NY
Pay Rate: $30–$34 per hour
The Electro-Mechanical Assembler will perform precision assembly, testing, and documentation of complex components in a production or prototype environment. This role requires strong attention to detail, proficiency with technical drawings and measuring tools, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively on high-quality assemblies supporting aerospace and defense applications.
- Perform assembly tasks in a manufacturing and/or prototyping environment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and detailed work instructions.
- Maintain accurate production records and manufacturing documentation.
- Handle and assemble delicate, high-precision components with care and accuracy.
- Identify production issues and assist in troubleshooting and implementing corrective actions.
- Follow established company policies, procedures, and labor charging practices.
- Use various hand tools, measuring instruments (verniers, calipers, scales, etc.), and specialized assembly equipment.
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment while maintaining accountability for individual tasks.
- High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 6 years of relevant experience, or an Associate’s Degree with 2+ years of related experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- U.S. Citizenship required; must be eligible to obtain a government security clearance.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or varied shifts as needed.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around manufacturing areas for extended periods.
- Experience in Electrical, Mechanical, or Optical assembly disciplines.
- Prior experience in the Aerospace or Defense industry.
- Skilled in operating shop equipment such as mills, lathes, and grinders.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and Lean Manufacturing principles.
This position operates within a fast-paced manufacturing setting, requiring precision, collaboration, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
