A Machine Operator Millwright is a skilled professional who combines the expertise of both a machine operator and a millwright. This role requires a deep understanding of machinery, precision tools, and mechanical principles to efficiently operate, maintain, and repair industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Machine Operation:
    • Operate various industrial machines, such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and CNC machines.
    • Set up and adjust machines according to specifications and production requirements.
    • Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal output.
    • Inspect and maintain machine parts to prevent breakdowns and ensure safety.
  • Millwright Duties:
    • Install, dismantle, and reassemble heavy machinery and equipment.
    • Align and calibrate machinery to precise tolerances.
    • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical components of machinery.
    • Fabricate and repair machine parts using welding, cutting, and other metalworking techniques.
    • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
    • Use precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Safety and Maintenance:
    • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as lubrication, cleaning, and inspection.
    • Identify and report potential safety hazards and equipment malfunctions.
    • Contribute to a safe and efficient work environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
