Pay Rate: $19.00/hour
Job Description:
We are looking for a reliable and safety-minded Oven Operator to join our production team in Old Town, ME. This position plays a key role in the curing and forming of manufactured components—such as canoe parts—using industrial ovens and related equipment. The ideal candidate will maintain precise temperature controls, ensure consistent product quality, and support overall production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate industrial ovens and related machinery to cure, form, or finish manufactured components according to defined specifications.
  • Monitor and adjust oven temperatures, cycle times, and settings to ensure optimal product quality and uniformity.
  • Load and unload materials or parts into and out of the oven safely and efficiently.
  • Perform quality control checks throughout the production process, ensuring all items meet required standards.
  • Document oven readings, production data, and quality results accurately.
  • Conduct basic equipment checks and perform minor adjustments to keep machinery running smoothly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
  • Follow all safety policies, including proper handling of heat-exposed materials and use of PPE.
  • Assist with general production tasks when needed to support workflow.
  • Communicate any equipment issues, quality concerns, or safety hazards to supervisors promptly.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing, machine operation, or oven/heat-set processes a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 50–75 lbs and work on your feet for the duration of the shift.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
  • Composite or steel-toe safety shoes required.
  • Reliability and consistency with attendance and work performance.
