Maintenance Technician
Job Description
Repairs and maintains machinery and equipment used in food production and in the buildings and grounds. This includes automated processing and sealing equipment, refrigeration coolers, conveyors, and frequency drives, PLC’s, scales, pumps, piping, pneumatics, electric control and lighting circuits and other equipment.
Job Responsibilities:
Must be able to read and use blueprints, schematics, maintenance manuals, hand tools, and various types of standard testing equipment.
Diagnose problems, replace and repair parts, detect and replace defective items, test and make final adjustments.
Dismantle, rebuild and reassemble machinery using hand and power tools.
Repairs and replaces pipes and equipment with pipe fitting tools.
Repairs and troubleshoots motors, switches, lighting and other electrical equipment.
Be able to use some machine shop, and other metal working tools including drill presses, saws and grinders to make and repair parts.
Must be able to maintain equipment following preventative maintenance work orders.
Must be able to work safely with electricity and have experience with 3 phase 480 VAC circuits.
Perform carpentry, plumbing and other work related to maintenance of the buildings and facilities.
Operate equipment such as snowplows, forklifts, scissors lifts, and other appropriate equipment
Follows work instructions and OSHA safety rules, including the use of all PPE and other safety equipment.
Ensure Quality & Food Safety training for team members, as well as overall employee safety.
