Location: Ashaway, RI
 Pay Rate: $22.84 per hour
Job Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a Manufacturing Technician to support the assembly and build of complex mechanical systems used in Submarine Acoustic Systems. This is a hands-on, on-site role requiring strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work with precision components and chemicals.
Work Environment
  • Manufacturing/production environment
  • On-site position, 9/80 Schedule
  • Regular use of chemicals such as epoxy and Loctite
  • Work performed in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards
Typical Workday Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical assembly of complex assemblies, including electrical and optical components and harnesses
  • Build, assemble, and integrate precision components according to engineering drawings and work instructions
  • Work with chemicals such as epoxy and Loctite following safety and handling procedures
  • Program assemblies using applicable software tools
  • Use computers regularly for documentation, assembly programming, and process tracking
  • Follow quality, safety, and process requirements to ensure product compliance
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and quality goals
Project Support
  • Submarine Acoustic Systems manufacturing and assembly
Required Qualifications (Must-Haves – Hard Skills)
  • Demonstrated mechanical assembly experience, including complex mechanical, electrical, and/or optical assemblies
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions
  • Solid computer proficiency, including Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office
  • Experience programming or configuring assemblies using relevant software tools
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves – Hard Skills)
  • Current or previous IPC J-STD-001 solder certification

  • Team-oriented mindset with motivation to positively impact team performance
  • Adaptability to changing priorities in a production environment

  • Must have technical aptitude
  • Must be able to work on-site 
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license required
Education & Experience Requirements
  • High School Diploma with 1–3 years of relevant manufacturing or technical experience
Compensation
  • $22.84 per hour
