- Provide exceptional patient service with a friendly and helpful attitude. Greet patients, provide necessary information and directions, and inform doctors of patient arrivals.
- Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, setting, and confirming appointments.
- Handle all incoming phone calls in a professional and courteous manner; compose and distribute messages as needed.
- Open new patient accounts by collecting registration data and creating new patient charts.
- Obtain, enter, and update patient demographic and insurance information accurately in the computer system. Verify insurance information by viewing and copying insurance cards.
- Collect co-pays, payments, and balances in accordance with office policies. Understand and enter payments into patient accounts in the computer system.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a medical office setting preferred.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in computer systems and electronic health records (EHR) software.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance procedures.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
