PCB Electronics Technician
Job Description
- Troubleshoot printed circuit boards (PCBs) down to the component level.
- Replace both surface-mount (SMT) and through-hole components as needed.
- Set up and operate various test equipment, including automatic/manual, in-circuit, functional, and bench testing systems.
- Identify and track PCB failure trends, and collaborate with Test and Manufacturing Engineering teams to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Support the transition of new products into production in coordination with engineering teams.
- Provide training to operators on test procedures and troubleshooting techniques to minimize PCB rejections.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
- Strong ability to interpret PCB schematics, assembly drawings, test procedures, and work instructions.
- Proficient in electronic circuit troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other diagnostic tools.
- Demonstrated expertise in SMT rework and repair to IPC standards.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to follow instructions, and capability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Associate’s Degree in Electronics (A.S.E.E.) and a minimum of 2 years’ experience troubleshooting microprocessor-controlled circuits to the component level or 10 years of equivalent hands-on experience in a similar role.
- IPC Certification is required.
