Photocathode & Chemical Process Technician
Location: Tempe, AZ
Pay Rates:
  • 1st Shift: $19.50/hour
  • 2nd Shift: $21.45/hour
Schedule: 9/80 Work Schedule (Shift dependent)
Occasional overtime may be required.
U.S. Citizenship is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
Position Summary
We're seeking a detail-oriented Photocathode & Chemical Process Technician to support the manufacturing of advanced electro-optical products in a cleanroom environment. This position combines precision assembly, glass substrate processing, chemical handling, inspection, and quality documentation. The ideal candidate enjoys detailed work, follows procedures carefully, and is committed to producing high-quality products in a controlled manufacturing environment.
What You'll Do
  • Perform metallization and coating of glass substrates using specialized deposition equipment.
  • Prepare glass components using approved cleaning agents, solvents, acids, and chemical processes.
  • Assemble, package, and prepare production materials following documented procedures.
  • Inspect products using microscopes and precision inspection equipment.
  • Identify and classify product defects while maintaining accurate quality records.
  • Perform production documentation using Quality Tracking Systems (QTS) and other electronic systems.
  • Safely handle chemicals while following all environmental, health, and safety procedures.
  • Package, label, and prepare materials for production and inventory.
  • Maintain cleanroom standards and wear required PPE.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining productivity and quality goals.
Work Environment
  • Cleanroom manufacturing environment.
  • Production and chemical service areas.
  • Required PPE includes bunny suit, gloves, safety glasses, aprons, hair covering, and additional protective equipment.
  • Exposure to chemicals, solvents, acids, and industrial equipment under controlled safety conditions.
  • Some work performed in low-light inspection areas.
  • Standing and sitting for extended periods.
Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 0-3 years of manufacturing, assembly, chemical processing, or production experience.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and data entry.
  • Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and safety procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to safely handle chemicals and wear required PPE.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a cleanroom environment.
  • Experience with microscopes and precision inspection.
  • Electronics manufacturing or chemical processing experience.
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), Lean Manufacturing, or 5S methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Experience maintaining quality documentation and inventory records.
