Job Description

Job Title: CNC Machinist
Location: Branford, CT – Onsite
Pay Rate:
  • Starting Rate: $30–$35 per hour (depending on experience)
Schedule:
  • Full-Time 
  • Monday – Friday: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM
  • Overtime: Paid at 1.5x for hours worked beyond 40/week
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our Machine Shop team in Branford, CT. This full-time position is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining ProtoTrak lathes and milling machines to produce high-precision parts according to technical specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience machining a variety of materials, interpreting blueprints, and working independently to meet production goals while upholding quality and safety standards.

Essential Functions:
  • Machine precision parts using materials such as SS304, 316L, aluminum, and a variety of plastics.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Perform setups and run parts as per production requirements.
  • Follow shop’s pre-inspection checklist prior to starting each job.
  • Punch into jobs using the ERP system.
  • Inspect and verify final part dimensions using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and fixtures.
  • Conduct routine repairs and preventative maintenance on shop equipment.
  • Comply with all safety standards and company policies.
  • Maintain a strong focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
  • 3–5 years of CNC machining experience.
  • High school diploma from a vocational technical school or equivalent training/apprenticeship.
  • Proficient in operating CNC lathes and milling machines, with direct experience in ProtoTrak controls.
  • Familiar with the metric system and precision measuring instruments.
  • Experience with turning lathes is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and reliability.
  • Comfortable interpreting engineering prints and working from production schedules.
