Facilities Engineer
Job Description
Location: Van Nuys, CA
Pay Rate: $55–$65 per hour, Depending on Experience (DOE)
- Plan, design, and oversee facility projects including maintenance, construction, alterations, and equipment installations.
- Gather and review data on project feasibility, regulatory requirements, schedules, and facility specifications.
- Coordinate with architectural and engineering firms to develop design criteria and layout/detail drawings.
- Prepare project documentation including bid sheets, justifications, statements of work, and contracts.
- Estimate project costs: equipment, materials, labor, and installation.
- Manage projects to approved budgets and schedules; approve contracts and purchases.
- Supervise and guide a team of 3 maintenance staff members.
- Monitor all construction and installation activities for conformance to specifications.
- Ensure OSHA and safety compliance across all facility operations.
- Maintain and improve preventative maintenance programs (CMMS).
- Contribute to departmental objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
- U.S. Citizenship (Required)
- 8–10 years of relevant Facilities Engineering experience.
- Minimum of 3 years in a Facilities leadership or management role.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA and facility safety protocols.
- Proficiency in CMMS and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and navigate multiple facility environments (interior/exterior, stairs).
- Valid driver’s license and personal transportation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Progressive experience in facilities leadership or process improvement roles.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills across cross-functional teams.
- Problem-solving mindset with ability to drive process improvements.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to guide and motivate a team.
- This position involves regular presence on the production floor, as well as in office and exterior facility areas.
- Must be comfortable leading and working hands-on with maintenance operations and project execution.
- Must be able to work 100% onsite.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and personal transportation.
