HW Staffing Solutions has a pharmaceutical client in Hauppauge, NY, looking for a long-term temporary worker, QC Lab Floor Cleaner/Glassware Washer.
 
 
Job Title: QC Lab Floor Cleaner & Glassware Washer 
Job Summary: Responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of laboratory floors and glassware to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. 
 
Payrate: $18.90/hour
Shift: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm (possible Overtime)
 
Key Responsibilities: 
  1. Clean and sanitize laboratory floors, including sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting as per SOP requirements 
  2. Wash, rinse, and dry laboratory glassware (e.g., beakers, flasks, pipettes) using appropriate cleaning agents and procedures 
  3. Ensure all glassware is free from residue, contamination, and suitable for analytical use 
  4. Operate and maintain glassware washing equipment (manual or automated washers) 
  5. Segregate clean and used glassware properly and store in designated areas 
  6. Dispose of waste materials in accordance with safety and environmental guidelines 
  7. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor for replenishment 
  8. Follow all laboratory safety protocols, including PPE usage and chemical handling procedures 
  9. Support audit readiness by ensuring cleanliness standards are consistently met 
  10. Report any equipment malfunctions, breakages, or safety concerns promptly 
  11. Removal or emptying of trash cans regularly 
  12. Use the caution signs while cleaning/mopping the floors for safety concerns (for wet floors) 
  13. Performing the activities without distraction (should not use the mobile in the lab) 
 
 
Physical Requirements: 
  1. Ability to lift and carry 60 lbs. or more regularly 
  2. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift) 
  3. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as bending, lifting, and reaching 
  4. Must be able to wear required PPE for extended periods. 
 
Qualifications: 
  1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred 
  2. Prior experience in laboratory, cleaning, or housekeeping roles is a plus 
  3. Basic understanding of hygiene and safety practices 
 
Skills & Competencies: 
  1. Attention to detail and cleanliness standards 
  2. Ability to follow SOPs and instructions accurately 
  3. Time management and organizational skills 
  4. Basic knowledge of chemical safety (preferred) 
  5. Ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment 
 
Work Environment: 
  1. Laboratory setting with exposure to chemicals and glassware 
  2. Requires standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods 
  3. Must adhere to PPE and safety regulations at all times 
  4. Requires adherence to strict safety and cleanliness standards
