Summary/Objective

The Quality Assurance Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining Quality Systems and audit readiness. The role works closely with operations to provide the knowledge and support necessary to maintain the Quality expected by our customers. The Quality Assurance Specialist is a core member of the audit team for internal, customer, and third party audits. The Quality Assurance Specialist will spend most of their time on the production floor managing QA functions during the job process, ensuring quality standards are being met at all manufacturing stages.

  • Perform appropriate sampling and testing activities as determined by the Quality and Production Mangers based upon the complexity and quantity of each job
  • Conduct in process sign-offs and verify line clearances
  • Manage and maintain production retains
  • Approve incoming raw material CoA’s
  • Generate CoA’s and CoC’s per specification
  • Verify conformance to specification of raw materials and finished goods
  • Cross-train on administrative QA responsibilities, including but not limited to:
    • Audits
    • Incoming inspections
    • Controlled Documents
    • SOP’s
    • Specifications
    • Design Reviews
    • Calibration Procedures
  • Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by QA Manager

Physical Demands

The following physical qualifications must be met to perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to stand, sit, bend, reach, crawl twist and lift up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to to 10 lb regularly. The ability to remain in a seated or standing position for long periods of time is required.

The ability to see, hear, count, measure, read, and follow verbal directives in English is required.

The ability to utilize fine motor skills while working on sensitive machinery.

The ability to perform repetitive upper body motions is required.

The ability to differentiate colors, horizontal and vertical positions.

 

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, Monday-Thursday 7 am to 5 pm

Overtime may be required

 

Travel - Minimal

 

Required Education/Experience

High School Diploma or GED

Minimum 5 years of Quality Assurance experience in a manufacturing environment

Audit experience (internal, customer, and 3rd party)

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Document Control

 

Preferred Education and Experience

Associate’s Degree

Familiar with GMP, AIB, ISO, and BRC standards
