Job Description

Position Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Quality Control Supervisor, the Quality Control Technician will perform essential duties to ensure the production of high-quality, food-safe products that meet or exceed customer expectations. This role focuses on maintaining food safety and quality standards through monitoring and enforcement of established protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Adhere to and enforce all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), Food Safety, and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) procedures by the company’s requirements.
  2. Use appropriate PPE and always follow OSHA safety guidelines.
  3. Perform daily GMP monitoring and complete the required checklists.
  4. Conduct environmental swabs as specified in the ATP sampling procedure.
  5. Analyze product specifications based on customer requirements and document results accordingly.
  6. Ensure all products meet customer specifications.
  7. Review non-conforming products daily and manage Non-Conforming Holds.
  8. Inspect raw materials for quality and safety standards.
  9. Report any open cooler doors and/or facility doors with gaps of light immediately.
  10. Verify that HACCP verification checks, and Metal Detector verifications are completed accurately and on time.
  11. Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
  12. Assist in controlling waste and minimizing production inefficiencies.
  13. Meet established standards for quality and productivity.
  14. Follow all company policies and procedures.
  15. Adhere to attendance requirements as punctuality is essential for this role.
  16. Enforce all safety rules and regulations in compliance with Company standards.
  17. Complete other duties as assigned by management.

 

Conditions of Employment:

  • The successful candidate will be required to provide documentation to verify the right to work in the United States upon hire and may be subject to the E-Verify program.
  • The successful candidate must pass post-offer, pre-employment drug testing.

 

Work Environment:

This position involves exposure to moving mechanical parts, operating machines, and equipment, requiring vigilant attention to safety. Any unsafe conditions must be reported immediately to management. Employees will be exposed to temperatures as low as 35°F for extended periods. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn in designated areas, which may include ear protection, smocks, rubber foot slides, gloves, cut-resistant gloves, and aprons (additional PPE may be required).

 

Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this position include standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, sitting, crouching, twisting, crawling, turning, pushing, pulling, and climbing throughout the day. The role also involves long periods of exposure to cold temperatures (35°F). Employees may occasionally lift or move items weighing over 15 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Employment Requirements:

  • GED or equivalent; some college education preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and/or Spanish, with strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work consistently in an environment with temperatures around 35°F.

  • 1-2 years of experience in Quality Assurance within food manufacturing or a related industry (e.g., general manufacturing).
  • Ability to complete paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions.
