About the Role:
We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join a rapidly growing composite manufacturing company in Shelton, CT. This is a direct hire opportunity for someone excited by the challenge of building and refining quality systems in a fast-paced, AS9100-certified environment.
As the company continues to scale — doubling in size over the past two years — your engineering expertise will be central to ensuring compliance, process improvement, and product reliability. You'll lead inspections, audits, and investigations that uphold the highest standards in aerospace-grade manufacturing.
If you're ready to apply your skills to a team that values innovation, integrity, and excellence — we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
Quality Systems & Compliance
  • Ensure ongoing AS9100 compliance through internal audits and process improvements
  • Translate customer specifications into internal quality plans
  • Lead MRB meetings and manage nonconformance reports (NCMRs)
Technical Inspections & Reporting
  • Develop and implement inspection systems
  • Conduct in-depth part inspections using advanced metrology tools
  • Generate FAIRs (First Article Inspection Reports) in line with aerospace standards
Continuous Improvement
  • Drive process improvement projects to enhance product quality and operational efficiency
  • Analyze quality data and contribute to root cause analysis and corrective actions
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • 5–10 years of quality experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Deep understanding of AS9100 and quality management systems
  • Proficiency with measurement tools and technical drawings
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to contract regulations
Company Overview:
This organization specializes in advanced composite manufacturing for mission-critical applications. With a focus on continuous improvement, the company fosters a collaborative engineering environment where innovation is encouraged and talent is recognized.
As part of their growing quality team, you'll play a vital role in ensuring every component that leaves the floor meets the highest standards of reliability, safety, and performance.
Why Join?
  • Work on impactful, high-performance composite products
  • Hands-on exposure to AS9100 audits, MRB processes, and quality systems
