Senior Quality Inspection Technician
Location: Wilmington, MA
Pay Rate: $35–$40/hour
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quality Inspection Technician to support inspection and quality assurance activities across incoming materials, in-process production, and final assemblies. This role is responsible for ensuring that all purchased parts, raw materials, and assembled products meet established specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex engineering documentation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform inspections, tests, and audits on purchased parts, materials, equipment, and panel/module-level assemblies
  • Interpret manufacturing drawings, diagrams, specifications, and parts lists to approve or reject components and assemblies
  • Conduct sampling and testing of incoming materials, in-process work, and finished products
  • Maintain accurate inspection documentation and quality records
  • Review and report performance data to ensure compliance with internal and customer quality standards
  • Execute receiving inspection transactions, including reviewing material certifications and completing inspection reports
  • Analyze measurement data and provide detailed reports to engineering and manufacturing teams
  • Determine or assist in developing inspection methods, procedures, and acceptance criteria
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve quality processes and maintain high standards
  • Interface with customer quality representatives and suppliers to address quality concerns and ensure compliance
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 10+ years of relevant experience,
    OR Associate’s Degree with 6+ years of related experience
  • Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models
  • Experience performing inspections on mechanical or electronic assemblies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with a variety of inspection tools, equipment, and methodologies
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or aerospace/defense environment
  • Knowledge of quality systems, standards, and continuous improvement practices
Work Environment
  • Combination of inspection lab and manufacturing floor settings
  • Frequent interaction with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams
