Rapid Prototype Operators
Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage customer sample builds.
- Review drawings, work orders and other information to ensure the samples are made correctly.
- Prepare raw materials for samples as needed, ensuring quality and quantity are acceptable.
- Work with manufacturing leads and management on resourcing needs.
- Coordinate shipping upon sample completion.
- Work with operators to help develop best practices to make new and unique samples.
- Document how samples were made for traceability and reproducibility.
- Work to constantly improve the sample making process.
- Manage consumables for sample area.
- Support development testing and feedback of new fixtures and jigs.
- Support Engineering in the assembly of new fixtures and jigs.
- Patriciate in the 6S program to ensure sample area is in compliance.
- Communicate with Engineers, Maintenance and other resources as needed to keep resources informed and engaged.
- Be a consistent, visible leader in the area of personal safety including involvement in assigned Safety trainings and initiatives.
- Participates as requested or desired in root cause investigations (RCI’s) occurring within assigned areas of responsibility.
- Ensure company safety policies, procedures and expectations are understood and followed by all employees, escalate concerns/suggestions as appropriate.
- Maintain organized work areas with staff.
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma required, undergraduate degree preferred.
- 5 years manufacturing experience preferred.
- Must consistently demonstrate company values of Safety, Quality, Teamwork, Customer, Integrity and Innovation.
- Must demonstrate knowledge of manufacturing processes, technical skills and troubleshooting equipment individually and through assigned resources for operational efficiency.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and electronic, and proven ability to relate with all levels within the organization.
- Excellent use of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Office, Teams, and Outlook.
- Understanding of quality measurement systems and practices.
- Strong planning, documentation and execution skills required. Attention to detail is a must.
- Proficiency in use of database applications, web tools, and e-Learning tools.
- Ability to work effectively in teams and independently

- Frequently required to stand

- Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl
- Continually required to talk or hear
- Frequently works near moving mechanical parts
- Frequently works around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals
- Occasionally exposed to extreme heat or cold (non-weather)
- While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 10 pounds
