Position Summary
Senior management has designated an SQF Practitioner for this site with responsibility and accountability to oversee the development, implementation, review, verification and maintenance of the SQF System. Takes appropriate action to ensure the integrity of the SQF System is maintained when changes to any process or procedure is required.
Responsibilities and Accountability
SQF Practitioner
• Communicate all essential information to relevant personnel that involves the effective implementation and maintenance of the SQF System.
• Validate and verify all changes to food safety fundamentals and food safety plans that have an impact on the facility’s ability to deliver safe food products.
• Establish and implement the training needs of the facility personnel to ensure they have the required competencies to carry out those functions affecting products, legality, and safety.
• Delegate verification activities to other management team members to ensure total involvement in the SQF certification process.
• Adhere to all ISO / SQF / HACCP personnel GMP practices, conduct and safety policies.
Document Control
• Execute Doc Control activities in accordance with approved procedures and work instructions.
• Track at all stages of routing, approval, distribution, periodic review and maintenance of documentation and filing of all master documents.
• Coordinate the day to day operation of review, follow up, completion and issuance of controlled documents.
• Assigns and manage procedure numbering, responsible for identification of procedure content and application to maintain logic in procedure numbering system
• Ensures approved standard format is used for all procedures and that they are written in an understandable fashion.
• Develop and maintain procedure distribution and location for procedures
• Distributes controlled procedures to any/all local locations and ensures delivery and removal of old revisions at remote locations
• Understands the validation, risk management, design history, and manufacturing transfer processes and assigns numbering and manages the files (checking and verifying).
• Ensures that all current controlled documents (SOP’s) Product Specs, Work Instructions, are accessible to all employees.
• Ability to objectively deal with individuals using appropriate tact and diplomacy to establish and maintain a congenial relationship.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Good word processing and database skills.
• Outstanding organizational skills and high attention to detail.
• Knowledge of current ISO, SQF and HACCP regulations and practices
• Proven ability to work and think independently.
• Demonstrated focus and strong interpersonal skills.
• Adhere to all ISO / SQF / HACCP personnel GMP practices, conduct and safety policies.

Quality Management, GCP, Documentation Skills, Reporting Skills, Analyzing Information, Problem Solving, Process Improvement, Verbal Communication, Informing Others, Attention to Detail.
• Associates Degree in relevant discipline and/or a minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Working knowledge and understanding of processes for validations, risk management, and manufacturing documents
• Experience with MS Office suite required
• Experience with Document Management Systems.
• Experience in implementing an electronic document management system.
• Experience supporting multi-departmental requests.
