Job Description
SHIFT SUPERVISOR
2nd shift
Supervise plant personnel to company standards. Perform and document preventive maintenance and monitor machine parameters. Ensure efficient operations so quality is maintained for complete customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
May be required to perform the duties of a Machine Operator, Material Handler, and/or Shift Inspector if necessary.
May be required to attend and/or hold training meetings and/ or informational meetings.
May be required to transport finished production and/or raw materials to an offsite warehouse.
May be required to assist tool room personnel.
Assign operator job responsibilities.
Monitor and verify the operators are performing their jobs properly.
Interpret and communicate quality standards.
Set up and start-up of production jobs to meet production schedule if needed.
Communicate to all personnel requited information especially shift to shift.
Submit parts to the Quality Assurance Department for approval, and in their absence may be required to make accept/reject disposition of product.
Complete all documentation in it's entirely, legibly, and in a timely manner.
Read interpret and follow company policies and procedures. Notify proper personnel if there is a problem, which keeps you or anyone else from observing these requirements.
Aid in training and orientation of Machine Operators.
Must set example in all actions of work, discipline, attendance, quality and performance.
Support all company policies and procedures ensuring all reporting personnel adhere to the requirements of the procedures.
Support housekeeping activities to company standards and guidelines.
Prevent non-conformity to customer expectations when known, identify and record any non-conformity in accordance with Corporate procedures and initiate corrective action to prevent future occurrences, in both customer and internal concerns.
Documents machine process parameters.
Ensure the smooth operation of their shift and shift personal.
Ensure all shift paperwork is completed as required, sign off on paperwork verifying it is complete and correct.
Perform preventive maintenance as needed.
Monitor safety issues and take corrective action to rectify.
Perform related work as required.
Be available on an on-call alternate basis.
Support and contribute to the Continuous Improvement program
Job Requirements
Education/Training: High School diploma or equivalent.
Work experience-6 months past proficiency in a machine operator position, and/or 6 Months past plastic molding experience.
Read, write and speak English language.
Must demonstrate leadership abilities.
18 years of age minimum.
Must have adequate transportation and possess a valid driver's license.
Any acceptable combination of education, training and experience, which provides the required skills and abilities.
Must possess a telephone and/or provide communication access.
Demonstrate attendance exceeding company basic guidelines.
Knowlege, Skills and Abilities:
Possess the ability to perform in a flexible and adaptive manner to situations and work demands.
Possess the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Possess the ability to perform a variety of manual tasks.
Must possess knowledge of materials, methods and practices commonly used in the Manufacture of plastics.
Must have knowledge of effective supervisory practices and procedures.
Must have the ability to write or typed basic operations notes for communication daily.
Possess the ability to understand and operate Molding Machine control
