Job Description

Shipping/Receiving Supervisor
A family owned business in the East Providence area is looking for someone to join their close-knit team as a Shipping / Receiving Supervisor! If you seek an environment where your contributions will be rewarded and everyone from every level of the company is eager to get the job done, this could be a great next step for you. The perfect candidate will have experience with UPS and FedEx software, be comfortable checking the accuracy of Bills of Lading, and will be ready to lead a small team of Material Handlers as they check incoming shipments for accuracy and deliver the outgoing goods to their loyal customer base!
Responsibilities:
- Routing deliveries as needed
- Coordinate all LTL and TL shipments
- Oversee the shipping and receiving operations in a warehouse
- Ensure accurate and timely receipt of all incoming shipments
- Supervise a small team
- Implement and maintain efficient processes for receiving, inspecting, and storing goods
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate the flow of materials
- Monitor inventory levels and reconcile discrepancies
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Experience:
- Previous experience in a supervisory role in a warehouse or distribution center
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems and processes
- Proficient in using forklifts and other materials handling equipment
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures
- Understanding of OSHA regulations related to warehouse operations
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required
Skills:
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on process improvement
- Attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with inventory management software
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience
