Responsibilities:

Assist in the daily Shipping functions as well as backing up the Shipping/Traffic Mgr.

 

Daily functions include:

  • Process all incoming orders as they are received from Customer Service.
  • Assign a carrier if one is not requested by the Customer in conjunction with the Traffic Mgr.
  • Prepare and attach a LCS (load count sheet) to each order received, add any specialty notes or pertinent information pertaining to a particular customer.
  • Verify that the order is ready and that there is ample inventory to fulfill.
  • Enter the information into the daily shipping schedule on the requested ship date.
  • Field Customer Service calls, resolve issues, make changes to orders as requested, etc.
  • Answer calls for drivers seeking directions to the company for pickups or deliveries.
  • Direct drivers as they arrive to where he or she needs to be to get loaded or offloaded.
  • Insure that the drivers have the correct pickup info matching company's paperwork.
  • Process the paperwork for each truck as it is loaded and complete.
  • Assist in loading if necessary, set loading patterns for new product shipments.
  • Prepare daily outbound UPS or FedEx shipments.
  • Sort through inbound UPS and FedEx shipments to insure people are notified of “hot” or overnight package arrivals.
  • Plan, prepare and process paperwork for the next day’s shipping.
  • Fill in for second the shift Supervisor when needed.
  • Fill in on Saturdays when requested, also securing the facility and arming the         security system when needed.
  • Help on the floors moving product, organizing and consolidating when time allows.
