Job Description:

• Operate slitting machines to cut materials such as paper, metal, plastic, or textiles into narrower widths or lengths as per job specifications.
• Set up and adjust machine settings including blade alignment, speed, and tension according to material type and thickness.
• Load raw materials onto the machine, ensuring proper alignment and feeding to maintain consistent quality and prevent machine jams.
• Monitor the slitting process to ensure accurate cuts, proper tension, and adherence to quality standards. Perform visual inspections of finished products for defects or irregularities.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks on the machine, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts. Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Identify and report any safety hazards or concerns.
• Maintain production records, including machine settings, material usage, and output quantities. Completed required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent is typically required. Additional vocational training or certification in machine operation or a related field may be beneficial.
• Previous experience as a machine operator, particularly with slitting machines, is preferred. Familiarity with industrial manufacturing processes and equipment is advantageous.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance tasks on machinery.
• Keen attention to detail is essential for ensuring the accuracy and quality of slit materials.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy materials, and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
• Effective communication skills are necessary for coordinating with team members, reporting issues, and following instructions.
