Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist Product Service and Production in the successful completion of product repairs, refurbishments, upgrades, and other technical services on both in-house and customer’s equipment; this will include the use of high-end test gear and component – level troubleshooting techniques.
  • Handle to completion incoming support calls from resellers and customers via telephone, e-mail, and other incoming media; this will include the issuance and processing of service RMA orders.
  • Assist in the emulation of customer-defined faults and participation in the resolution process; follow through with proper process documentation.
  • Testing and results documentation of internal and external (customer) equipment, software and firmware.
  • Perform related duties as assigned, within the scope of the position.
  • Perform special soldering and assembly processes including validation builds and engineering sample builds.
  • Use microscope and soldering equipment to add/remove small components on printed circuit boards, soldering of wires, and PCB repair.
  • Adhere to company practices regarding safety and control of electrostatic discharge (ESD).
  • Perform rework on circuit board product according to released specifications.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 2 years required as an Electrical/Electronics Technician.
  • Prior experience soldering electronic components is required; experience with surface-mount soldering is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot to component level required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Oracle knowledge is preferred.
  • Ability to participate as a team member within a cohesive technical unit.
  • Must be able to work effectively and productively with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements:

  • Primarily sedentary physical work requiring ability to lift a maximum of 25 pounds for the occasional lifting and carrying.
  • Frequent walking and standing, hand/eye coordination, and the ability to operate computer keyboard/office equipment.
  • Vision for reading, recording and interpreting information.
  • Speech communication and hearing to maintain communication with employees and customers.
