Quality Technician II

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Quality Technician II to support quality assurance operations within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for advanced inspections, process monitoring, documentation compliance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise, experience with precision measurement systems, and a solid understanding of injection molding processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Inspection
  • Perform and document first-piece inspections including visual, dimensional, and functional testing
  • Inspect parts from new molds and collaborate with engineering teams to optimize performance
  • Utilize OGP (Optical Gaging Products) and precision measurement equipment
  • Apply SPC techniques to monitor production trends and ensure process control
Documentation & Compliance
  • Ensure batch records are accurate, complete, and meet ISO 13485 traceability standards
  • Oversee sampling documentation and determine release status of materials and finished goods
  • Maintain detailed records in compliance with internal and customer quality standards
Training & Support
  • Assist in training team members on blueprint reading, measurement tools, and defect identification
  • Ensure operators are qualified on equipment and inspection requirements
  • Provide support to junior quality staff in resolving complex issues
Problem Solving & Improvement
  • Participate in corrective action activities for non-conforming products
  • Identify and troubleshoot molding defects (e.g., splay, flash, short shots)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment (medical or aerospace preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of injection molding processes and part validation
  • Experience with OGP or similar vision inspection systems
  • Proficiency in SPC and quality analysis tools
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to train and support team members
