Job Title: Tool Repair Technician
Location: Amherst, NH
Pay Rate: $20–$25 per hour (DOE)
Schedule: Full-Time
Overview:

We’re seeking a hands-on Tool Repair Technician to support our production operations by maintaining, repairing, and assembling high-quality tooling and dies. Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble new tooling and dies from machined subcomponents.
  • Perform repairs, sharpening, and troubleshooting of trim tools to ensure they meet print requirements and maintain consistent performance.
  • Follow safe work practices while performing tight-tolerance machining using toolroom equipment such as lathes, mills, and surface grinders.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and work instructions to machine precision tooling.
  • Work with Engineering to support tooling and equipment upgrades that improve quality, productivity, and manufacturability.
  • Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and general maintenance as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of toolmaking and machining, including safe operation of lathes, mills, and surface grinders.
  • Strong blueprint reading and shop math skills.
  • Familiarity with finishing processes such as heat treating and tempering.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Combination of education and experience may include:
    • Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program and 1+ year of experience in tool fabrication, or
    • 2-year degree/certificate in machining or tooling with 1–3 years of progressive experience, or
    • 4–6 years of hands-on experience in a toolroom environment.
