Welder/Fabricator
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Welder/Fabricator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for cutting, welding, and fabricating assemblies using drawings or rough sketches, ensuring all components and framework meet our rigorous standards. This role requires proficiency in various welding processes, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently from blueprints, sketches, procedures, and other specifications.
Responsibilities
- Cut, Weld, and Fabricate Assemblies: Utilize drawings or rough sketches to cut, weld, and fabricate assemblies.
- Welding Processes: Perform welding of components and framework using a variety of welding processes, including MIG and TIG.
- Quality Control: Measure and examine completed work to verify conformance to specifications.
- Tool and Equipment Use: Operate tools and equipment such as band saws, oxygen and acetylene torches, and plasma cutters.
- Material Knowledge: Understand and work with both ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
- Continuous Improvement: Maintain continuous improvement practices in the work area.
- Other Duties: Perform other projects and duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Reading and Interpretation: Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints.
- Welding Skills: Proficient in MIG and TIG welding techniques.
- Cutting Skills: Experience using band saws, oxygen and acetylene torches, and plasma cutters.
- Fabrication and Assembly: Strong fabricating and assembly skills.
- Material Knowledge: Understanding of the dissimilarities of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
- Computer Proficiency: Proficient with computer usage.
- Blueprints and Specifications: Capable of working from blueprints, sketches, procedures, and other specifications.
- Continuous Improvement: Commitment to continuous improvement practices in the work area.
- BG/DT Required
Core Skills
- Tool and Equipment Proficiency: Ability to use a variety of tools and equipment effectively.
- Mathematical and Mechanical Aptitude: Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Blueprint Recognition: Ability to read blueprints and recognize welding symbols and specifications.
- Safety Knowledge: Knowledge of industry safety practices.
Education/Technical Training
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience in welding and fabricating.
- Software Knowledge: Experience with SAP or related CMMS software is preferred.
